WebSphere Administrator to work within the in the WAS, Portal and Performance Management team.
Roles & Responsibilities
1) Build and manage the WebSphere Application Server (WAS) and Portal instances applying software upgrades as appropriate.
2) Deploy applications into WAS and Portal, ensuring they are aligned to defined best practises.
3) Monitor the servers, particularly production, reacting to issues as required.
4) Carry out application changes as requested by Change system.
5) Contribute to capacity management function to ensure extra capacity is added to production WAS clusters prior to performance or availability being compromised.
6) React promptly to all production issues to help maintain 24*7 availability requirement of production applications.
Experience of the following products is essential:
1) WebSphere Application Server (5.1 or above),
2) WebSphere Portal Server (5.1 or above) is desirable.
Relevant WebSphere Application Server is required, in an administration role. Experience of design work for high availability systems is required and certification in WebSphere Application Server administration or Portal administration is preferable.
Candidates with experience of working within a Change Control or ITIL environment would be ideal.
Knowledge in any of the following will be desirable: WebSphere MQ, CA/ Wily Introscope, CEM, Oracle, Rational Application Developer, J2EE and Portal development standards, CICS Transaction Gateway.

A growing interactive design practice within one of the world's largest and most respected technology companies, seeks experienced WebSphere Application Architect for high profile consulting projects. The WebSphere Application Architect is responsible for architecting and delivering solutions based on WebSphere Commerce Suite and/ or WebSphere Portal Server.
Skills Required
* Extensive, recent experience delivering WebSphere Commerce and/ or WebSphere Portal solutions throughout the full application development lifecycle from Solution Outline through to Implementation.
* Creation of detailed requirements that specify the technical architecture of the system.
* Ability to describe and visually represent the functionality of the IT system, including designing the interactions between a system's components, defining the interfaces provided by components, and documenting the dynamic behaviour of a system as expressed by collaborations between components.
* Ability to assess the client's current architecture and make appropriate recommendations.
* Ability to complete gap analyses to compare the newly defined functional requirements to the current infrastructure.
* Ability to design applications which might run on multiple platforms and be composed of multiple software packages.
* Ability to perform critical evaluation and selection of the software and hardware components of the application.
* Evaluation and selection of development methodologies and tools.
* Responsibility for performance, availability, and scalability of the applications.
* Maintenance of the functional interface to the application infrastructure.

An IBM Websphere Portal Developer (IBM Websphere Portal Development 6.0/ 6.1, JSR 286 / JSR 168, Portlet applications, Java, JavaScript, knowledge of XML, Access, and Clearcase, Agile)
Responsibilities:
- Deployment of Portlet applications on IBM WebSphere Portal 6.0/ 6.1.
Must have working knowledge and experience in developing Portlet with all of the following:
